CERT and the Haiti Relief Effort Presentation a Success

Despite an unrelenting rain that lasted pretty much all day, we had a nice turnout at the American Museum of Natural History, which hosted our reception and presentation on CERT’s role in the Haiti relief effort.

An UWS CERT Summer Gathering at the American Museum of Natural History

Rescue Bag 101

The UWS CERT team is now developing a list of recommended personal safety items for the rescue bag, and using this Web site’s Are You Ready? page, which lists recommended items for the Go Bag, as a resource.

HSAC Presents Sustainability and Efficiency Recommendations to New York Leaders

In a public press conference yesterday at the Grand Hyatt New York, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) presented a draft of recommendations by its Sustainability and Efficiency Task Force, an independent advisory board of sustainability experts.
